The establishment and development of the college
The first period (1413-1418 AH): In response to appreciating the women's role in society and to ensure the sound scientific upbringing of future pioneers and developing their role in this region, and as a natural response to the need of primary education schools for teachers with scientific and educational qualifications, this college was established in 1413AH. It was affiliated with the General Presidency of Girl's Education and in its beginning, it was an intermediate college for preparing female teachers. The study duration was limited to two years, after that the graduates are awarded an intermediate College Diploma, and this continued until 1418 AH.
The subsequent period (1418-1430 AH): With the continuous push for development in the Kingdom in all fields, especially in education, the years of study at the Intermediate College have been increased to four years. So, the name changed from the Intermediate College to the College of Girls in the academic year 1418/1419 AH. In 1423/1424 AH, affiliation was approved for the four literary departments of the college: (Islamic Studies - History and Civilization - Arabic Language - English Language), and in 1427 AH the affiliation with the English Language Department was abolished. In the year 1428 AH, the college administration and its subordination were transferred to Riyadh University for Girls, which was later renamed Princess Noura bint Abdul Rahman University.
The current period (1430 - until now): In the year 1430 AH, the administration of the college and its subordination was transferred to King Saud University, then later the management of the college and its subordination to the University of Al-Kharj in the year 1431 AH, and in line with the requirements of the quality of education, the college was restructured by the decision of the Higher Education Council No. (3/1430) dated 4/7/1430 AH,
In the academic year 1431/1432 AH, the College of Education included the boys and girls departments.
